The term assemblage comes from the English "to assemble" meaning to put together, unite.
In Italian it retains this meaning, and in its broadest sense means to join together various parts (which are usually ready-prepared) to create one homogenous and consistent unit with its own physical and functional identity.
Assemblage is the final phase of sheet metal processing.
Having undergone punching or shearing, bending or deep-drawing, welding or spot welding, the parts produced from the preceding phases are joined together mechanically or pneumatically (using air-pressure).
Example: the various parts which make up a wardrobe are assembled together to obtain the finished product, or, more simply, runners and handles are attached to drawers.
Once all the various parts have been assembled together, the finished product is ready to be put on the market.
The assemblage department is capable of carrying out all types of assembly and testing on items produced.
